This season hasn't been kind to the Wyandotte Bulldogs, who are still winless after their fourth match. They suffered a tough 82-58 defeat at the hands of Kansas City East Christian Academy on Monday. While losing is never fun, Wyandotte can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 257th in Kansas, while Kansas City East Christian Academy is ranked 16th in Missouri).
Despite the loss, Wyandotte still got an impressive performance from Kamari Murray, who scored 17 points. Murray scored a full 29.3% of Wyandotte's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Taylor, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Leading Kansas City East Christian Academy to victory were Kevin Johnson and Jared Devine. Johnson dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Devine dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Devine's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Kai Lewis was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists.
Wyandotte's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wyandotte won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Schlagle at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Schlagle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Monday. Kansas City East Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wichita HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Wichita HomeSchool is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
