Basketball Recap: Cumberland Christian Home Educators Takes a Loss

Cumberland Christian Home Educators was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-40 heartbreaker at the hands of Galilean Christian Academy. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-53 back in November of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Cumberland Christian Home Educators saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gabe Coleman posted four points in addition to 13 rebounds and five blocks. Those five blocks gave Coleman a new career-high. Noah Hughes was another key player, putting up seven points.

Cumberland Christian Home Educators' loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Galilean Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Cumberland Christian Home Educators didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-50 victory against Veritas Christian Academy on the 17th. Galilean Christian Academy has also already played their next game, a 72-50 win against Cumberland Christian Home Educators on the 18th.
