Madylinn Grindstaff put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Sophia Ulrich was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Koera Leitzel, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Montgomery, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Benton a 21-0 shutout on Thursday. With that win, the Red Raiders brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.
Like Line Mountain, Montgomery also got a great game from a two-way player: JENNA HOUSEKNECHT. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. HOUSEKNECHT was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Montgomery always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory got Montgomery back to even at 2-2. As for Line Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
