The Woodrow Wilson Bruins will challenge the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Woodrow Wilson will be strutting in after a victory while Long Beach Poly will be coming in after a loss.
Woodrow Wilson took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Cabrillo 20-4. With that win, the Bruins brought their scoring average up to 7.3 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Hannah Stump, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Tallulah Watts also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Woodrow Wilson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Long Beach Poly fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Valley Christian last Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Defenders by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Jackrabbits have suffered since April 16, 2024.
Bailey Holder led a balanced group of hitters, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Emoni Lam Sam was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.
Woodrow Wilson pushed their record up to 4-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Long Beach Poly, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Woodrow Wilson hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Long Beach Poly struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Woodrow Wilson couldn't quite get it done against Long Beach Poly in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-5. Can Woodrow Wilson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
