With a playoff game on the line, the Blanchard Lions rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 26-14. Blanchard is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 11 straight.
Leading Blanchard to victory were Carson Cooksey and Hudsen Periman. Cooksey threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, while Periman picked up 72 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Blanchard's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Poteau, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 12-1.
Blanchard will face off against Wagoner at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wagoner will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Poteau does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
