The Wheatley Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the East Rockaway Rocks at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Wheatley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher back in January after their third straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 50-22 loss at the hands of Carle Place. Wheatley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-10.
Meanwhile, East Rockaway came up short against the Frogs on Thursday and fell 55-42. East Rockaway has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wheatley's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for East Rockaway, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Wheatley was able to grind out a solid win over the Rocks in their previous meeting back in January of 2019, winning 35-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wheatley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
