George Wythe let Caroline Harris and Avery Cline run wild. Harris went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Cline went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Harris a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Temperence Smith, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.
George Wythe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Galax only posted a batting average of .167.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Honaker faced off against Northwood on Thursday. The Tigers blew past the Panthers 7-1. Considering the Tigers have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Gracie Shelton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aliyah Hilton, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. Madayln Dye was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one run.
Honaker's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for George Wythe, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
