There's no place like home for Holmes County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 21-19 win over the Rutherford Rams on Friday. The Blue Devils' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Egan Segers went supernova, rushing for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 122 yards on 12 of 19 attempts. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August of 2024. 81 of Segers' passing yards were hauled in by Naiym Madison.

Holmes County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Rutherford, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Holmes County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 25-12 win against Northview on the 19th. As for Rutherford, they have also already played their next game, a 27-3 loss against Baker on the 19th.
