After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Cave Spring, Northside was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. They walked away with  a   9-5  win over the Glenvar Highlanders.   Evan Bruce made a big impact no matter where he played. He  tossed 2.2 innings while giving up   no  earned run or  hits. Bruce was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  John Doak was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.  Aries Oliver was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
 Northside's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Glenvar, they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-3-1.
 Northside will head out on the road to  square off against  James River at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. Northside is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8  runs per game this season. As for Glenvar, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Radford at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
