They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-37 victory over Maryvale. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory West Seneca East has posted against the Flyers since January 22, 2018.
West Seneca East was led to victory by Melanie Marcezin and Hailey Alba. Marcezin scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, while Alba dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Alba has scored at least a third of West Seneca East's points.
West Seneca East now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Maryvale, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
West Seneca East won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on January 27th. One thing working in Lake Shore's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. Maryvale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
