The Bear Lake Bears will take on the North Fremont Huskies at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Bear Lake put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They walked away with a 12-8 win over Marsh Valley. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bears with their most commanding win of the season.
Brooklynn Crockett made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. She also put up two RBI, which were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Kambria Romrell was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Brooklynn Pope also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Bear Lake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, North Fremont made easy work of Soda Springs on Friday and carried off a 17-11 victory. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
North Fremont got a massive performance out of Brynnli Schultz, who scored three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Oakley Hathaway, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
The victory made it two in a row for Bear Lake and bumps their season record up to 3-6. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 9.5 strikeouts in those games compared to only 3.14 in the others. As for North Fremont, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bear Lake hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like North Fremont struggles in that department as they've averaged .417. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bear Lake might still be hurting after the 15-5 defeat they got from North Fremont in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Bear Lake avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
