The Ransom Everglades Raiders will venture away from home to square off against the Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Stallions at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ransom Everglades, who comes in off a win.
Ransom Everglades made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Riviera Prep, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Ransom Everglades was the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over Riviera Prep on Monday. Considering the Raiders have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Juan Velazco and Mason Lastra did most of the damage at the plate: Velazco scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Lastra went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Ransom Everglades is undefeated when Lastra posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Tyler Grossfeld was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Ransom Everglades always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Coral Gables.
Willie Iglesias was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Cole Cutrer, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Ransom Everglades, their record is now 9-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ransom Everglades has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Ransom Everglades came out on top in a nail-biter against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) in their previous meeting back in February, sneaking past 8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ransom Everglades since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
