Carver High School of Engineering & Science entered their tilt with the Northeast Vikings with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Carver High School of Engineering & Science took down the Vikings 71-56 on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Carver High School of Engineering & Science was led to victory by Fareed Brown and Matthew Mcfield. Brown scored 24 points along with two steals, while Mcfield scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Mcfield scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Tali Simpkins, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Despite the loss, Northeast still got an impressive performance from Darrius Gaeta, who scored 29 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Gaeta also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Miller, who scored eight points.
Carver High School of Engineering & Science pushed their record up to 16-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Northeast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-3.
