White River Valley kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 16-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cloverdale Clovers. The Wolverines have struggled against the Clovers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
Kayla Pierce was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Miah Duncan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
