Normal West never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against the Peoria Lions as they made off with a 19-0 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.
Reagan Williams and Ryder Coone were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Williams tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Coone pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had over his last six contests. At bat, Williams got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Coone went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Coone has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, Normal West got a massive performance out of Drew Hart, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Hart has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Reinhart, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Normal West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peoria only posted a batting average of .000.
Normal West pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Peoria, they are on a 28-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.
