Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Upper Lake

Upper Lake waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Clear Lake Cardinals. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Cardinals back in September, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Upper Lake never let Clear Lake on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-21.

Ava Witter was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 15 digs and five aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August of 2024.

Witter wasn't the only good servers: Upper Lake was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. The Cougars are 4-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Upper Lake's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Clear Lake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Upper Lake will challenge rival Cloverdale at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Clear Lake is set to face off against their familiar foe Fort Bragg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
