Nottoway fell just short of Amelia County by a score of 45-43. Nottoway was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Amelia County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Nottoway's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Anton Carter Jr., who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 13 rebounds, and Kendreyeus Johnson who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds. D'aunte Watson was another key contributor, scoring 3 points along with 10 rebounds and 4 steals.
Even though they lost, Nottoway were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Amelia County only pulled down 20.
JUSTIN PERRY was the offensive standout of the contest as he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Amelia County's points. Another player making a difference was JUSTIN SQUIRE, who scored 7 points along with 5 steals.
The last time Nottoway won on the road was back last Wednesday. Having now lost three straight away matchups, they've bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Amelia County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Nottoway will head out on the road to face off against Cumberland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cumberland and Nottoway are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Amelia County, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Prince Edward County at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th.
