The St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats lost against the Washington County Bulldogs back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. St. Luke's Episcopal received a tough blow as they fell 62-46 to Washington County. While losing is never fun, St. Luke's Episcopal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Washington County is ranked 105th).
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kalaysia Robinson, who scored 12 points along with nine steals. Robinson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Armani Coleman, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
St. Luke's Episcopal has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Washington County, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Luke's Episcopal won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. Paul's Episcopal at 5:00 p.m. on January 12th. St. Paul's Episcopal will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Washington County, they will head out on the road to face off against Chickasaw at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
