On Monday, it was a hard-fought match, but Parkdale had to settle for a 51-49 defeat against the Cavaliers.
Parkdale's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mark Freeland, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Freeland hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was anuel decker, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Parkdale dropped their record down to 5-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Crossland, their victory ended a 17-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkdale won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Bladensburg and the Panthers are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Crossland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
