Basketball Recap: Martins Mill Takes Down Italy in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Martins Mill rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Italy Gladiators 73-45. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 25 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Martins Mill to victory were Ryder Marsh and Jak Kinder. Marsh dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards, while Kinder posted 12 points in addition to eight assists and five rebounds. Marsh is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Archer Schneider, who to rack up 13 points and six rebounds.

Martins Mill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Martins Mill's victory was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 32-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points over those games. As for Italy, their loss dropped their record down to 21-14.

Martins Mill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-38 win against Gary on the 25th. Italy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
