The Williams Vikings will challenge the Ray Bearcats at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Williams came out on top against St. Michael on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Vikings put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 12-1 victory. Considering the Vikings have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Danika Howe was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Audrina Baldwin was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Kenzie Orozco was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Ray scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 37-27 to San Manuel. The Bearcats just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.
Krishel Sims made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jillian Figueroa, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Williams has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Ray, their loss dropped their record down to 8-18.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Williams has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Ray struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Williams took their victory against Ray when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Bearcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
