It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Suwannee had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They put the hurt on the West Florida Jaguars with a sharp 7-0 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Not much got past G Garcia, who gave up just two hits to keep West Florida off the board. Garcia has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kyler Watson, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Caiden Jenkins, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three runs.
Suwannee is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Florida, their loss dropped their record down to 25-6.
Suwannee wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against South Walton on the 5th. West Florida does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
