Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Eustis Panthers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 54-7 loss at the hands of Cocoa on Friday. Eustis' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Troy Saladin threw for 90 yards and a touchdown. Damarian Hagins was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Tymir Gaines rushed for 43 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cocoa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brady Hart, who threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Nicholas Teeter was in the mix as well, providing Cocoa with two touchdowns.
Eustis' loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Cocoa, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Eustis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cocoa will be playing at home against Dunnellon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dunnellon is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
