Saylor Edwards was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Tucker, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Piedmont didn't have quite enough to beat Mooresville on Wednesday and fell 6-5. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Piedmont also got a good showing from Lilli Leopold, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.
At the plate, Piedmont saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashlyn Pressley, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI. Another was Reagan Loving, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Even though they lost, Piedmont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in nine consecutive contests.
