The Princeton Tigers had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They claimed a resounding 54-0 victory over Hall/Putnam County at home. The result was nothing new for Princeton, who have now won eight matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Princeton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was William Lott, who threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Casey Etheridge, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Princeton's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.5 points per game. As for Hall/Putnam County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Princeton will be playing in front of their home fans against Paxton-Buckley-Loda at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Paxton-Buckley-Loda will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while Princeton is ranked 67th). Hall/Putnam County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
