Scotus had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Aquinas Monarchs 49-7 on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.
Scotus' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Thomas Settje, who rushed for 185 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries. Settje's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Wessel, who rushed for 38 yards and two TDs.
