Warren and Taft are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Warren is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Stevens get on the board and left with a 21-0 win on Thursday. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Avery Sauceda made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Miley Vinton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Alyana Ramirez was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Warren kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Taft waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Like Warren, Taft also got a great game from a two-way player: Alyssa Rangel. She struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Rangel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Hannah Flores was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Sophia Quiroz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Taft's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Warren, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Warren hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Taft struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Warren couldn't quite get it done against Taft in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 6-1. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
