Fairmont Senior has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Wayne Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Fairmont Senior humbled East Fairmont with a 48-14 victory. With Fairmont Senior ahead 21-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Wayne entered their tilt with Poca with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Wayne blew past Poca 52-14 at home.
Wayne can attribute much of their success to Jaxson Damron, who rushed for 94 yards on only 12 carries, and also caught a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Fisher Fry, who threw for 203 yards and a touchdown on only 16 passes.
Their wins bumped Fairmont Senior to 7-2 and Wayne to 6-4.
Everything came up roses for Fairmont Senior against Wayne when the teams last played back in November of 2017 as the team secured a 43-8 victory. Will Fairmont Senior repeat their success, or does Wayne have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
