The McClatchy Lions will take on the Rosemont Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, it was close, but McClatchy sidestepped Union Mine for a 5-3 victory.

Madelyn Ogata spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, McClatchy got a big performance out of Jeneyse Morales, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Cali Del Mazzio was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
McClatchy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union Mine only posted a batting average of .250.
Meanwhile, Rosemont came into Tuesday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Galt 8-1 on Tuesday. The Wolverines not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 7, 2024.
Talia Adams made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Adams was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Jalaya Cozart was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabriyanna Vegafria, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-4.
McClatchy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Rosemont, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
