The Dover Green Wave will head out on the road to face off against the Portsmouth Clippers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Dover took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Keene a 14-0 shutout. That looming 14-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Green Wave yet this season.
Jenna Martel tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sierra Hutchinson was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Lafleur, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Dover always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Portsmouth made easy work of Exeter on Monday and carried off a 15-6 win.
Kora Douglass (2029) was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Douglass (2029) was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Abby Craig (2028) was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Ainsley MacGlashing (2027) was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Dover is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Portsmouth, their record now sits at 5-3.
Dover's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. The Green Wave have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Portsmouth, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Dover continue to outrun the ball?
Dover couldn't quite get it done against Portsmouth when the teams last played back in April of 2025 as they fell 8-4. Can the Green Wave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
