Baseball Recap: Pen Argyl's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak at Home

There's no place like home for Pen Argyl, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Northern Lehigh Bulldogs a 3-0 shutout on Saturday. For the Green Knights, this counts as revenge for the 9-7 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Not much got past Cayden Vishnesky, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Northern Lehigh off the board.

At the plate, Nick Haros was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three runs. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

Pen Argyl's win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Northern Lehigh, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pen Argyl will venture away from home to square off against Moravian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Moravian Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17 runs per game on average), something Pen Argyl will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Northern Lehigh, they are taking a road trip to face off against Salisbury Township at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Northern Lehigh's pitchers better be ready for this one: Salisbury Township has averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
