The Cox Mill Chargers won the last time they faced the South Iredell Vikings, and things went their way on Friday too. Cox Mill walked away with a 31-20 victory over South Iredell. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cox Mill.
Cox Mill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Cleaves out in front who picked up 133 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Cleaves' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards. Another player making a difference was Jon Bissonnette, who rushed for 28 yards and a touchdown.
South Iredell's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Landon Mcclain, who rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns. Tyler Johnson was another key contributor, throwing for 133 yards and a touchdown.
Cox Mill is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for South Iredell, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Cox Mill will head out on the road to face off against Sun Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sun Valley is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. South Iredell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
