The East Bladen Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Pender 80-56. The win was some much needed relief for East Bladen as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Despite the loss, Pender still got an impressive performance from Cyrus Page, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Malcolm Driver, who scored nine points.
The victory got East Bladen back to even at 9-9. As for Pender, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Bladen will square off against West Columbus at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Columbus has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Pender, they will head out on the road to take on Whiteville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pender is coming into the contest with four straight losses on the road, meaning Whiteville will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
