After a string of 11 wins, the St. Ignatius Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln County. St. Ignatius was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Kara Stanger was her usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with five rebounds for Lincoln County. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stanger has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Casazza, who scored ten points along with three steals.
St. Ignatius' defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Lincoln County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season.
St. Ignatius' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Troy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Lincoln County, they will head out on the road to take on the Blue Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
