On Tuesday, Hill Freedman World Academy slipped by Freire Charter 54-53. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hill Freedman World Academy.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hill Freedman World Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amir Wilkins, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyshawn McNair-Benn, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 22 rebounds.
Hill Freedman World Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Freire Charter, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hill Freedman World Academy will square off against First Philadelphia Prep at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. First Philadelphia Prep is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Freire Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Nueva Esperanza at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Nueva Esperanza is ranked 550th, while Freire Charter is ranked 534th).
