Softball Recap: Triad Has No Trouble Against Granite City

Triad never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Granite City on Monday. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 18-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Lil Lintz and Syd Horn did most of the damage at the plate: Lintz went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Horn went 4-for-5 with three runs and one RBI. Those four hits gave Horn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Horn, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Triad always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Granite City only posted an OBP of .263.

Triad's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-8. As for Granite City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Triad will venture away from home to challenge Waterloo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Granite City, they will head out to take on Collinsville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
