Pusch Ridge Christian Academy has gone 9-1 against Tanque Verde recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lions will welcome the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Cholla just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 11-10.
Noah Miller was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Lincoln Miller was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of TJ Loftis, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Tanque Verde ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Rio Rico 10-8. Winning may never get old, but Tanque Verde sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Dylan Lewis was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Landon Walker, who scored a run and stole two bases.
Tanque Verde kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive matches.
Tanque Verde's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Tanque Verde struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy beat Tanque Verde 8-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
