The Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jesuit. Cosumnes Oaks has not had much luck with Jesuit recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Wolfpack players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jay Washington, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Devin Jones was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two blocks.
Cosumnes Oaks has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for Jesuit, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cosumnes Oaks will take on Elk Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Elk Grove knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Cosumnes Oaks likes a good challenge. As for Jesuit, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Rio Americano at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Rio Americano will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Jesuit is ranked 59th).
