Clairton extended their losing streak  to ten  on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-10 in the process. They came up short against  Sewickley Academy, falling  10-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the  19-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in May of 2024.
 Clairton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Brandon Murphy Jr, who  went 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases and one  run.
As for Sewickley Academy,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 3-9. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5  runs in those games.
 On Sewickley Academy's side,  David Young was  incredible,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. Those  two  RBI gave  Young a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Billy Pietragallo, who  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  stolen bases and two  runs.
While Clairton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
