Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Huntley). They blew past the Dundee-Crown Chargers 40-12 on Thursday. Given the Red Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Chargers are ranked 125th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lyla Ginczycki looked great while leading her team to the win, throwing for 114 yards and four touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in rushing yards (14). Aubrina Adamik was another key player, picking up 22 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Huntley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Adamik led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Huntley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points on average over those games. As for Dundee-Crown, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
