Regents stacked a seventh blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by TMI-Episcopal on the road to the tune of 57-0. Given Regents' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 250th, while TMI-Episcopal is ranked 1105th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Regents found their leader in underclassman Quinn Murphy, who threw for 191 yards and five touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Murphy hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Jack Devine, who picked up 16 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but St. Michael's ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against St. Joseph by a score of 28-21. The victory was a breath of fresh air for St. Michael's as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
St. Michael's relied on the efforts of Diego Flores, who rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown, and Will Garcia, who rushed for 33 yards and two touchdowns.
St. Michael's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. St. Joseph's QB won't forget Ben Brophy anytime soon given Brophy sacked him six times.
Regents' victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 47 points. As for St. Michael's, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
