The Washington Huskies pushed their score all the way to 79 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 97-79 bruising from Moreau Catholic. It was the first time this season that Washington let down their fans at home.
Dominic Walker was a one-man wrecking crew for Moreau Catholic as he shot 5-for-10 from long range and dropped a double-double on 35 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Walker pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kareem Jackson Jr., who scored ten points along with five assists and four steals.
Washington's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-8. As for Moreau Catholic, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully American focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Monday. As for Moreau Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kennedy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully the Mariners like a good challenge.
