After a string of five wins, the Parklane Academy Pioneers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They suffered a rough 63-40 defeat at the hands of Oak Forest Academy. Parklane Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Oak Forest Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on January 9th.
Oak Forest Academy was led to victory by Garrett Shoemaker and Trendan Spears. Shoemaker dropped a double-double on 18 points and 20 rebounds, while Spears scored 26 points along with six assists and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Spears has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Logan Freche, who scored ten points.
Parklane Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-5. As for Oak Forest Academy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7.
Parklane Academy will head out on the road to challenge Bowling Green at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bowling Green has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19. As for Oak Forest Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Silliman Institute at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th. Silliman Institute is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
