Vasquez posted their closest victory since March 8th on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Desert Christian Knights 10-8. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Luke Real made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Real was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon McGriff, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season. Nate Jacobson was another key player, scoring two runs.

Vasquez's record now sits at 14-4. As for Desert Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6-2.

Coming up, Vasquez will square off against Bishop Union at 3:15 p.m. on the 18th. As for Desert Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Faith Baptist at 3:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
