5A Region I District 6 recap September 4, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Clayton Oliver and Jackson Zeledon connected against Duncanville. The longest such play in 5A Region I District 6 this season, the connection resulted in 56 yards.
Bell was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Raiders triumphed over North Crowley 39-0.
Christian Garcia and Kyandus Hall gave Irving a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Garcia threw for 142 yards and 3 touchdowns, while Hall ran for 113 yards. Antonio Franklin also contributed to the rushing game with 101 yards on the ground.

Smith was the best receiver in 5A Region I District 6 this week as the Panthers lost to Duncanville. Zeledon helped Heritage's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 75 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Heritage's Pickler and Smith have proven to be a lethal combination. Pickler has thrown for 219 yards this season, while Smith has 5 catches for 109 yards. Hall from Aaron Delatorre's team leads the league in rushing with 113 yards.
Nimitz moved up to 483 from 564 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Vikings were able to make move up by defeating North Garland 36-6.
