Ty Jones Turns in Season-Best Performance
Sadly, Ty Jones posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Lakeside over Brunswick on Friday. Jones rushed for 203 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and also threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 101 or more in the last seven games he's played.
Jones must have Brunswick's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Jones last faced the Pirates back in October of 2023, he rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 177 yards and a touchdown.

Grant Moore produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Brunswick to the win on Friday. Effingham County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. Perkins and Effingham County will square off against Glynn Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
