Eaglecrest had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Smoky Hill on Saturday. The Raptors blew past the Buffaloes 11-3. The Raptors haven't had any issues with the Buffaloes recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Cosme Vera was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Vera wasn't the only one making solid contact: Eaglecrest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The Raptors are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Eaglecrest's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Smoky Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Eaglecrest will have a chance to go back-to-back against Smoky Hill: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
