LaSalle-Peru took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Morris, who comes in off a win.
Even though Joliet Catholic scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, Morris still came out on top. Morris walked away with a 67-56 win over Joliet Catholic. Given Morris' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Joliet Catholic is ranked 462nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, LaSalle-Peru's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Ottawa by a score of 40-38. LaSalle-Peru has struggled against Ottawa recently, as their game on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Morris' win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for LaSalle-Peru, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Morris beat LaSalle-Peru 42-33 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morris since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
