Tampa Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabby Bush out in front who scored 23 points. Natalia Long was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Wiregrass Ranch's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Solei Sowell, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Kelley, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists.
Tampa Prep's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Wiregrass Ranch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Tampa Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Land O' Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they will head out on the road to face off against Sunlake at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sunlake presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wiregrass Ranch in Florida (Sunlake is ranked 128th, while Wiregrass Ranch is ranked 341st).
