Having just played yesterday, the Nandua Warriors will get right back to it and host the Poquoson Islanders at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Nandua beat Holmes 52-47. That's two games straight that Nandua has won by exactly five points.
Poquoson can finally bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They snuck past Tabb with a 62-56 victory. Poquoson's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Poquoson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dayne Galacgac out in front who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Galacgac has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Khaleo Smith, who scored 14 points.
The win got Nandua back to even at 5-5. As for Poquoson, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7.
Nandua didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Poquoson in their previous matchup back in January of 2020, but they still walked away with a 63-57 victory. Does Nandua have another victory up their sleeve, or will Poquoson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
